On Monday, the NBA announced their All-Rookie teams for the 2016-2017 season, which included Joel Embiid.

Joel Embiid, Dario Saric, Malcolm Brogdon, Willy Hernangomez, and Buddy Hield made up the first NBA All-Rookie team for this past season.

Both Malcolm Brogdon and Dario Saric were the sole players to receive unanimous votes to be placed on the first team. Not a single person achieved such a feat on the NBA All-Defensive teams for the 2016-2017 season.

Brogdon, who was selected in the second round, was definitely deserving of the honor. He was a consistent point guard for the Milwaukee Bucks this season. He averaged 10 points in four assists, while playing approximately 26 minutes per game.

Meanwhile, Saric had an outstanding season alongside Joel Embiid on the Philadelphia 76ers. He averaged nearly 13 points and over six rebounds per game. However, Embiid was the standout on the team. After missing the previous two seasons to injury, he returned with a bang. He averaged over 20 points and nearly eight rebounds per game.

Buddy Hield and Willy Hernangomez round out the first team. Hield, who was dominant in college at Oklahoma, was a consistent scorer for the Sacramento Kings, averaging 10 points a game. Willy Hernangomez was a presence in the post for the New York Knicks, scoring eight points and grabbing seven rebounds per game.

Jamal Murray, Jaylen Brown, Marquese Chriss, Brandon Ingram, and Yogi Ferrell made up the 2016-2017 NBA All-Rookie second team. Each of these players brought energy to their franchise in their first seasons.

Murray was just five voting points short of tying Hernangomez for a spot on the first team after a streaky first season with the Denver Nuggets. He averaged 9.9 points per game. Although, his numbers were slightly disappointing after being drafted 7th overall in the 2016 NBA Draft.

Jaylen Brown was an integral role player for the Celtics this season.
