Chris Paul took to Twitter to express his feelings following his trade from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Houston Rockets.

On Wednesday, news came of Chris Paul being acquired by the Houston Rockets in a blockbuster deal. As a way of saying goodbye, the star point guard used Twitter to make known the “unbelievable amount of emotions right now.”

Paul’s goodbye was classy and heartfelt. He mentioned everything that made the city of Los Angeles special to him. The most emotional moment was his noting that “LA’s Best and the Brotherhood Crusade.” Paul made it clear that these “guys have changed my life.”

Additionally, he wanted the city to know that he appreciates everything they have done to welcome him.

He acknowledged that is hard to deal with change as a way of empathizing with the fans that have grown close to him over his six seasons with the team: “this is the part that no one can prepare you for.”

Paul’s trade to the Rockets shocked the basketball world on Wednesday.

He will be a welcome addition to the Houston Rockets, who have been using MVP candidate James Harden as a point guard this season. It is unclear how well their styles will mesh since both players love to drive the action of the game.

Meanwhile, his move leaves the Clippers in shambles. It is doubtful that Blake Griffin will remain in Los Angeles. Even J.J. Redick is rumored to be on his way out. Both the Nets and Sixers are reportedly interested in the sharpshooter.

Paul has always been a classy and special player in the NBA and this goodbye was just one more example. Los Angeles will surely miss his electrifying passing and everlasting energy. He will go down in history as one of the franchise’s best players.
