Battle rappers took to Twitter to give their thoughts on WWE’s battle rap segment between the Usos and New Day.

On the most recent edition of SmackDown Live, WWE held a battle rap between The Usos and The New Day. Many battle rappers are fans of pro wrestling and took notice of the segment. Here are some of the their reactions on Twitter:

JPro is a King of the Dot staff member and sometimes battler. He was very wrong about the segment being awful.

The Saurus is a legendary battle rapper and the “two-time champion of everything.” The only thing better than his punchlines are his reactions to other rappers’ punchlines. He and Illmaculate form one of the best two-on-two teams in battle rap history.

Xavier Wood’s using a “slow it down” in his verse was a shout out to Conceited, who started that trend. Conceited is now a regular on Wild N’ Out and a meme.

Dizaster is arguably the most famous battle rapper in the game today. He’s laughing off the tweet because he’s seen, and been part of, battles where punches have been thrown and brawls have broken out.

This was retweeted by the Ultimate Rap League, the most successful battle rap league going today. The New Day, Wale, and The Usos didn’t try and hide their love for battle rap, adding a handful of battle rap staples in the segment.

DNA and K-Shine are arguably the best tag team in battle rap right now.

Norbe’s helps run the URL. He also offered The New Day tickets to their upcoming event in New York on July 29.

This was retweeted by Serius Jones, another battle rap pioneer. I’m sure he didn’t approve of Kofi Kingston thinking a stop sign is a hexagon, though.

WWE posted the New Day vs. Usos battle rap segment on their YouTube page, but edited out The Usos “Rated-R” line aimed at Xavier Woods:

This was a home run segment for WWE. It was entertaining and managed to come off authentic in the eyes of those most familiar with battle rap.
