NFL roundup: Adrian Peterson letting doubts motivate him

Adrian Peterson will be wearing a new uniform during the 2017 NFL season, and he is letting all of the doubters fuel his passion to succeed.

The 2017 NFL season is starting to creep up on us all, and for Adrian Peterson, it will be his first not playing for the Minnesota Vikings. The star running back was released from his contract by the Vikings this offseason, and landed with the New Orleans Saints. He knows many people are doubting him, and he is using it as fire to fuel him as he attempts to prove everybody wrong this upcoming season.

Bruce Arians revealed in his book that he underwent surgery in December to remove cancer from his kidney. The head coach of the Arizona Cardinals has battled cancer before, back in 2007 he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and also in 2013, when he had cancer cells removed from his nose. He appears to be back on track with his health, and will lead a Cardinals team in 2017 looking to get back to the playoffs after a one-year hiatus.

Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana does not like Colin Kaepernick’s chances of getting back into the NFL. Montana is the best San Francisco 49ers quarterback in the franchise’s history, and while Kaepernick had his bright spots early in his career, he will go down as the most polarizing. Kaepernick decided to not stand during the national anthem last season, and as a free agent in 2017, has not been offered a contract by any NFL team.

The Denver Broncos are going to throw the ball a lot this season, although they do not yet know who will be doing the throwing. The quarterback battle between Paxton Lynch and Trevor Siemian is still ongoing, and head coach Vance Joseph recently said they are still neck-and-neck. Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders loves how much the team is going to throw with new offensive coordinator Mike McCoy, who loved to sling it with Philip Rivers during his time as the head coach of the Chargers.

It appears that Calvin Johnson felt that the Super Bowl was not in reach for his Detroit Lions prior to him retiring. Johnson retired after the 2015 season abruptly, leaving the organization with a ton of question marks at the wide receiver position. The future Hall of Famer stated that he just could not see the Lions making the Super Bowl in the future, though injuries did play a big role in him retiring during the prime of his career.
