The Oregon Ducks are looking for a strong first season under head coach Willie Taggart. Here’s their projected depth chart for 2017.

After a disappointing 2016 and Mark Helfrich getting fired, the Oregon Ducks are looking to rebound in 2017. Phil Knight is investing whatever he can into the program to see a rise to prominence again. Willie Taggart was the man they have chosen to take them back to the top.

While the Washington Huskies dominate the Pac-12 North and the Stanford Cardinal remain the consistent giant, the Ducks are going to have some work to do. Taggart did a solid enough job in a short amount of time to get some key recruits to flip.

Whenever a new coach comes into the mix, any existing starters at position shouldn’t consider their spot a complete lock. Whether it’s a new scheme or the coach simply seeing a better fit, there are always going to be changes to the depth chart.

In college football, players leaving or graduating is always a reason for constant change too. The Ducks while dealing with players leaving, are also dealing with a bit of a recent issue and big departure from their program.

After his most recent arrest for DUI charges, Darren Carrington was dismissed from the program. He was one of the most dynamic receivers in the conference and certainly made the big plays for his program.

However, the Ducks were forced to make a tough decision and that means the receiving position is going to have some new looks as well. It’s an interesting year for the Ducks in their first year under Taggart. Here’s how the 2017 depth chart projects.
