New York Giants safety Landon Collins refutes Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott’s notion of the Cowboys repeating as NFC East Champions.

The NFC East is almost always a blood bath. These four rivals beat up on each other more than most teams do in divisional play. While Dallas Cowboys starting quarterback Dak Prescott has stated that Dallas will repeat as division champs, New York Giants safety Landon Collins isn’t buying into that one bit.

Collins commented on the issue Friday by picking his team to win the NFC East, obviously. He said on the Cowboys’ chances to repeat, “I highly doubt that. They do not control the [NFC] East. It’s over with. We’re going to have a run for it. I mean, they’re not going to win, I can tell you that much. We’re definitely going to take over.”

While New York handed Dallas two of its three regular season loss last season, neither club won a NFC playoff game. The Giants were stomped by the Green Bay Packers in the divisional round at Lambeau Field. A week later, Dallas would lose in heartbreaking fashion on a Mason Crosby field goal set up by the greatest catch of tight end Jared Cook’s life.

The NFC East has not had a repeat winner since the Philadelphia Eagles went back-to-back in 2003 and 2004. While New York has the best defense in the division, the Giants haven’t won the NFC East since 2011. That was before Collins committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide next to his diehard LSU Tigers fan mother at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

New York has the defense and the second place schedule to win the division. However, the offensive line is terrible, the Giants struggle to run the football and Eli Manning is rapidly decaying before our very eyes as a franchise quarterback.

The Cowboys may not win the NFC East, but Giants may not either. This is the only division in the NFC where all four teams can win the division crown. Don’t sleep on the Eagles or the Washington Redskins either. They can definitely make a run for the title, too.
