After a wild night at WWE Battleground, here is an early projection of what we could see at SummerSlam.

WWE Battleground is officially in the books and part of history. Now we set our sights on the annual August spectacular known as SummerSlam. The hottest night of the summer will emanate from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and now we can start taking guesses as to what we could possibly see on Aug. 20.

It’s expected to be a four-hour event, so there will be plenty of action to be seen. We’ll start from the bottom and wrap up with what should be an explosive main event. So let’s kick off with the Raw side of things first.

  • WWE Raw Tag Team Title Match: Cesaro & Sheamus (c) vs. Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins
  • Bray Wyatt vs. Finn Balor
  • WWE Raw Women’s Championship: Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Sasha Banks
  • WWE Universal Championship, Fatal Four Way: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe, and Braun Strowman

It’s easy to break the Raw half of the card down. With the mind games that Bray Wyatt likes to play, he should be preparing for the rebirth of the Demon King in Brooklyn. Sasha Banks has put herself in a nice position to knock Alexa Bliss off her throne, and will have that shot at SummerSlam. And there’s almost no way to expect Brock Lesnar to face any less than three of Raw’s best stars. Now let’s see the possible SmackDown! Live part of the card.

  • WWE SmackDown! Live Tag Team Title Match: The New Day (c) vs. The Usos
  • WWE SmackDown! Live Women’s Title Match: Naomi (c) vs. Natalya
  • WWE United States Championship: Kevin Owens (c) vs. AJ Styles
  • WWE Championship: Jinder Mahal (c) vs. John Cena

Coming out of Battleground, we know that Naomi will defend her title against Natalya. Naomi got a front row seat to watch Natalya win the Fatal 5-Way to earn her shot. The New Day-Usos feud has been incredible in recent weeks, and one more shot between these two teams is just what the doctor ordered. As for the championship match, Jinder needed the help of The Great Khali to retain the title over Randy Orton He better be fully prepared for the CeNation to be in full force in Brooklyn.

SummerSlam is one of the original big WWE pay-per-view events, and this one is shaping up to be another classic. Obviously, we’ll see how things play out over the next few weeks. This is just a mere projection as to what we COULD see on Aug. 20 in Brooklyn.
