The Dallas Mavericks have struggled the last two seasons, but seem determined to turn things around with a balanced roster filled with youth and experience.

Since the year 2000, the Dallas Mavericks have been a staple in the NBA playoffs. In the 18 seasons during that time span, the Mavericks have made the playoffs in 15 times. That’s including two NBA Finals appearances, with Dallas winning one of those when they beat the Miami Heat back in 2011. It’s a truly remarkable run, to say the least, but the Mavericks have struggled the last two seasons.

At some point, every team goes through a rebuilding phase. Some longer than others of course, but the Mavericks seem poised to get back to their winning ways. A lot of good has come out of these struggles, as Dallas has been able to draft two future franchise cornerstones in back to back seasons with Dennis Smith Jr. and Luka Doncic. The Mavericks were also finally able to sign DeAndre Jordan this past offseason, after he spurned them a few seasons ago to remain with the Los Angeles Clippers.

With the future of the team in place, and productive veterans such as Harrison Barnes, DeAndre Jordan, Wesley Matthews, and future Hall of Famer Dirk Nowitzki in the mix, the Mavericks will surely look to improve on their 24-58 record from a season ago. Here’s a look at the 2018-19 Mavericks roster, and how their depth currently stands at each position.
