The Lakers topped the Nuggets on Sunday night after Anthony Davis’s game-winner, dropping Paul Millsap to 0-10 in his playoff career against LeBron James.

The Los Angeles Lakers won a thrilling Game 2 on Sunday night against the Denver Nuggets, with Anthony Davis knocking down a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer to give his team a 2-0 series lead.

For Denver forward Paul Millsap, the feeling of losing to a LeBron James-led team in the playoffs is all too familiar. Sunday’s loss dropped Millsap to 0-10 all-time against James in the postseason, dating back to his days with the Atlanta Hawks.

According to The Athletic‘s Kendra Andrews, Millsap is confident that he can alter the trend in these Western Conference Finals, but a close Game 2 loss suggests that he may have missed his chance. Nikola Jokic looked to put Denver in the driver’s seat with a go-ahead tip-in late in the fourth quarter, but Davis’s rebuttal ultimately sank the Nuggets.

Why has LeBron James always owned Paul Millsap’s teams?

While Millsap certainly hopes to pick up his first playoff win over James, the veteran forward has not contributed much as a scorer in the early stages of the series. After tallying just five points in Game 1, Millsap managed six points and eight rebounds on Sunday night, while Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray once again led the way for Denver.

Sunday’s performance suggested that the Nuggets could avoid a sweep, but a series victory seems unlikely with the way that Davis is playing. The All-NBA big man has scored 30 or more points in each Western Conference Finals game thus far, and Denver simply has no answer for him on the defensive end.

A better scoring output from Millsap could be a start, as Jokic and Murray certainly need some help on the offensive end. However, until the Nuggets have an answer for Davis and LeBron James, Millsap’s losing streak is likely to continue.
