After picking up Matt Ryan with the third overall pick in the draft it’s hard to beleive that there may be questions as to who will be starting under center come September. However we all know how rookie quarterbacks that simply get thrown into the starting rotation usually pan out, need I remind you of [...]
If you watched the 2008 NFL Draft or any related programs that have analyzed the Falcon’s pick at three, you heard Matt Ryan’s intangibles be compared to the likes of Tom Brady on more than one occassion. While the number he wears on his back in the NFL will probably not be a factor in his [...]
The Falcons continue to add new faces to the franchise after “cleaning house” several months ago. David Caldwell was named Director of College Scouting Wednesday afternoon.
Caldwell has been around the league for over ten years, starting out as a Scouting Assistant with the Carolina Panthers in 1996. He then moved on to become an Area scout for [...]

1. Atlanta Falcons: Michael Oher OT (Ole Miss)
2008 Selection: Matt Ryan QB (Boston College)

Pick 3 - Matt Ryan QB (Boston College)
Pick 21 - Sam [...]
Day one was full of shockers as expected. After deciding to pass up Glenn Dorsey for a potential franchise quarterback in Matt Ryan, the Falcons traded back into the first round to pick up some protection for the new face of the franchise in offensive lineman Sam Baker out of USC. They gave up [...]
Glenn Dorsey is still on the board as Mike Smith and company opt to pass up the best player in the draft and take a risk on Boston College’s Matt Ryan. Ryan is now the new face of the franchise but we aren’t home free just yet. There’s a long road of development ahead, hopefully [...]
I just got wind of a rumor reported by Adam Schefter that the Rams will take defensive end Chris Long giving the Falcons a chance to pick up Glenn Dorsey. Schefter also reported that the Falcons are leaning towards taking Matt Ryan even if Dorsey is availible….
Let’s hope these are just rumors and nothing more, [...]
Happy Draft Day Falcon’s fans! If your as nervous as I am as to what the Rams will do with the number two pick, you didn’t get alot of sleep last night. All because of those tricky Rams….
No one has a clue who they’re leaning towards at number two but it has everything to do with who [...]
