The Pittsburgh Steelers were expected to start 2012 second-round pick Mike Adams at right tackle this season, after he started ten games a year ago, but his offseason of work will be delayed at least a month while he recovers from a stabbing incident that took place early Saturday morning. According to the Steelers official website, someone attempted to steal Adams’ truck when the stabbing occurred. The incident took place in Pittsburgh’s South Side.
“We are aware of the situation regarding Mike Adams being stabbed earlier this morning,” Steelers General Manager Kevin Colbert said. “We are in direct communication with both Mike and his family. Mike is expected to make a full recovery.”
CBS Sports is reporting that Adams’ agent, Eric Metz, said that Adams is out of surgery and expected to make a full recovery in six weeks.
“All things considered, Mike’s actually pretty lucky,” Metz said. “It could have actually been worse.”
Adams sent out a message thanking an angel for looking over him when the incident went down:
I had an angel lookin out for me! Ill be ok just gotta fight to get back harder then ever

Once Adams is 100 percent and able to return to the field, there is no reason to expect that this will do anything to hurt his chances of taking the starting gig for the 2013 season.
