Life hasn’t been easy for the Colorado Buffaloes since they joined the Pac-12 a few years back, but head coach Mike MacIntyre believes the team is making strides and improving. While losing by 22 points to UCLA doesn’t exactly look impressive on paper, McIntyre knows a decent performance against a ranked opponent can help boost a team’s confidence.

Per The Denver Post:

Our performance against a top-20 team shows that we’re making progress, and that gives everybody a little more confidence. The players listen to the coaches a little bit more. The coaches think they’re doing the right thing a little bit more, and it just keeps you more and more confident.

We played a really good football team, and I hope that one day people are saying that about us.

The Buffaloes, 3-5 on the year but winless in the conference, will play the Washington Huskies this weekend.
