Titans at Colts final score 14-22: Vinatieri’s five field goals give Colts the win

The Tennessee Titans enter the weekend in the thick of the AFC Wild Card race. They needed a win to stay in contention, but beating their divisional rivals, the Indianapolis Colts, wouldn’t be easy.

The Titans defense did a good job of keeping the Colts offense out of the end zone early in the game. The Colts kicked four field goals in the first half, three of which were 45 yards or longer.

In the second quarter, Titans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick capped a 80-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown run. The Colts were leading 12-7 at the half.

Early in the second half, the Titans took the lead. Another 80-yard drive was capped with a one-yard touchdown run from Chris Johnson.

The Colts got another field goal from Adam Vinatieri at the end of the third quarter to regain the lead. Running back Donald Brown finally found the end zone for the Colts in the fourth quarter at the two minute warning. It gave the Colts a 22-14 win over the Titans.

Brown was getting the nod over Trent Richardson at running back in the game. he carried the ball 14 times for 54 yards and a 3.9 yards per carry average. Richardson carried the ball five times for 19 yards and a 3.8 yards per carry average.
