During all the on-field excitement after Auburn’s miraculous win over the Alabama Crimson Tide last weekend, head coach Gus Malzahn has his visor taken off his head. The culprit was high school freshman Hayden Hart, who sent Malzahn an apology by way of The War Eagle Reader on Monday and is looking to return the visor to its rightful owner.

Referencing a YouTube clip posted on the site, Hart sought to make amends. The War Eagle Reader published part of his letter of apology:

Dear Coach Malzahn,

I saw this on YouTube and war eagle reader and thought, “Holy crap what have I done!”   I am soooooooo sorry about taking your visor; I took it thinking you would just throw it into the audience later anyway. If you guys can send me the address to return it to then I’ll be more then happy to do so….

Hart spoke about the situation to ESPN, saying it was “a spur of the moment thing” that, in retrospect, he shouldn’t have done.

There’s no news yet as to if the visor has been returned Malzahn.
