Sochi Olympics, ladies speedskating 500m results: Sang Hwa Lee claims gold for South Korea

The ladies 500m speedskating final is in the books at the 2014 Winter Olympics, with South Korea’s Lee Sang-Hwa crossed the finish line with a gold medal time. Lee edged out Olga Fatkulina from host nation Russia, who claimed the silver medal.

Margot Boer took the bronze, as she continued to add to the medal count for the Netherlands speedskating team.

Heather Richardson of the United States was the top American finisher in eighth place.
