The details surrounding the upcoming season of the next installation in the American Horror Story saga entitled American Horror Story: Freak Show have been, for the most part, kept under pretty tight wraps. However, Denis O’Hare, who has been with the cast since the first season, spoke to Vulture about the upcoming season, and even revealed a few details about his character in the upcoming season.

As most of you who have been following the series already know, O’Hare has been with the series since the first season where he played Larry Harvey; a man who was horribly disfigured after being set on fire by Tate Langdon. In the second season, which was entitled American Horror Story: Asylum, the True Blood actor was nowhere to be found.

When the third season kicked off, entitled American Horror Story: Coven, O’Hare would return to the series as Spaulding, the loyal servant of Fiona, the Supreme of the Coven.

O’Hare’s character Spaulding may have worked hand in hand with Jessica Lange’s character Fiona, the same cannot be said about the new season. According to Vulture, O’Hare revealed that he will spend most of the season at odds with her new character.

"“I’m going to be working at cross-purposes with her. We’re going to be like this,” he tells Vulture as he crosses his fingers. “We’ll have lots of scenes with each other, but we’ll be battling.”"

This will definitely be an interesting contrast to last season where O’Hare’s character seemed to be faithfully dedicated to his Supreme.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the new season will be set in Jupiter, Florida in the 1950’s. Jessica Lange, who has said that this will be her last season with the series, will play a German ex-patriot who is running one of the last remaining freak shows in the United States.

In the interview with Vulture, O’Hare describes his new character as a “collector of freaks.” Could this mean that his new character will be working against her by trying to control and/or exploit some of the freaks in her show? I guess we will have to watch and find out.

Just how do you think these two characters will come together in the new season? What are your expectations coming into the new season? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

American Horror Story: Freak Show will debut in October on FX.
