NFL Draft 2014 results: Top three SEC QBs taken Saturday; AJ McCarron lands with Bengals
By Jack Crosby
Zach Mettenberger, 178th overall, Tennessee Titans
Ken Whisenhunt is getting one of “his quarterbacks” in the former LSU star. Much like Murray, there were injury concerns coming in as he too suffered a severe injury in the final game of the season against Arkansas last year, although he did throw on his Pro Day and rather well.
This week, things got a little bit worse when word came through about a diluted sample that was submitted for his drug test at the Combine, which could have also contributed to his fall.
Still, after working with Cam Cameron at LSU last season, Mettenberger improved tremendously as a pocket passer overall and with the questions the team has surrounding Jake Locker, the former Tiger might have the best chance to see the field immediately in 2014 out of all three of these signal callers.
