Kelvin Benjamin scores amazing first TD as a Carolina Panther (GIF)

Having lost virtually all of the receivers that they had on the roster from last season, the Carolina Panthers, in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, turned to the hero from last year’s BCS National Championship Game, Florida State’s Kelvin Benjamin, for help. With his 6-5 frame, he’s already being expected to be a contributor early on, and he’s showing that he’s up to the task in his preseason debut on Friday night.

The Panthers opened their 2014 preseason on Friday with a game against the Buffalo Bills, and while Cam Newton is not in the lineup tonight, that didn’t stop Benjamin from showing what he’s going to be bringing to the table.
Early on in the second quarter of the game, Benjamin hauled in a beautiful 29-yard TD catch.
While he’s not playing tonight, you know that Newton had to be sitting on the sidelines with that big smile on his face. These two are going to do some serious work together this season, and Newton has to be chomping at the bit to get it going.
