WINNER: Frank Gore, San Francisco 49ers

It feels like every season someone is writing Frank Gore off.

It could be fantasy football pundits, it could be NFL analysts—it really doesn’t matter because routinely they are wrong.

Gore has a 4.3 yards per carry average this season and Sunday saw him add to that with a 5.9 yards per carry average, totaling 107 yards on the ground and routinely gaining first downs and moving the chains.

The Niners have had some success with rookie Carlos Hyde, but they seem to do better when “Old Man Gore” gets the ball on a regular basis. That’s what they did on Sunday and it helped propel them to a win.

Gore runs with a chip on his shoulder and a great deal of determination. He’s fine with people doubting him—clearly that lack of faith is working out for him.
