The NBA season tips off tonight as the quest to win an NBA title begins for every single team in the league.

It’s one of the biggest sports cliches ever, but the start of the NBA season truly means that everyone is on even ground for at least one night. The NBA tips off its 2014-15 regular season tonight with a handful of games getting the season underway in style. Not everyone plays tonight, but everyone has a chance to get off on the right foot and begin an 82 game trek that will hopefully end in the postseason.

Teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers, San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls and Oklahoma City Thunder are teams that don’t need to try all that hard in the regular season but this could be the year we see teams like the Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns and even the Minnesota Timberwolves make something of their season.

On the other hand, the NBA has team in the Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics and New Orleans Pelicans who seem to be a year away — at least — from doing anything at all.

However, the start of the season restores hope to all fan bases around the NBA as no one is on a losing streak, the season is still ahead of everyone and the excitement of having basketball back is in the air.
