After everything that has happened so far this season, the remaining survivors are about to set out on a heroic rescue mission in tonight’s episode of The Walking Dead.
Last week, the people over at AMC felt the need to drop a pretty big bombshell on fans. As it turns out, Eugene is not the one person that is going to save the world. He’s just a person who “knows things” and is “smarter than everyone else.”
Because of this, he found himself on the business end of one heck of a beat down at the hands of Abraham who was sincerely hurt by Eugene’s betrayal.
Whether Eugene will survive Abraham’s attack or not remains to be seen, but we can assure you of this…things will never be the same again.
In tonight’s all-new episode of the AMC Original Series The Walking Dead, the remaining survivors are about to set off on a heroic rescue mission. Does this mean that they are about to head back to the hospital in order to retrieve Beth and Carol? Furthermore, how did Carol get there in the first place?
Well…let’s take a look at tonight’s episode, which is titled “Consumed” through the use of some of the best GIFs of the night.
When tonight’s episode kicks off, we find Carol back when she was first “asked” to leave the group by Rick. As you can see, she is pretty shaken up by the whole ordeal. In her mind, she was doing what she needed to do in order to keep the group safe. Unfortunately, not everyone saw it that way.Credit: Zombie Prophet
Nonetheless, she continues on. Unfortunately, there is no real place to stop when you are on your own in the zombie apocalypse. Just as she starts to make her way, she sees smoke off in the distance. It is coming from the direction of the prison. This can’t possibly be good. Needless to say, she takes off.Credit: Zombie Prophet
When we get back to a more present day, we see Carol and Daryl in pursuit of the people who he knows took Beth. As they make their way down the road, the car in front of them smacks into a walker sending it collapsing to the ground. As it reaches into the air, still in pursuit of their target, Daryl and Carol come cruising over it crushing the walker’s head into the ground.Credit: Zombie Prophet
Of course, no episode would be complete without the drive thru walker slaying; as seen here with Carol.Credit: Zombie Prophet
Eventually, they find themselves a place to stop for a little while. Unfortunately, everywhere you go nowadays you are almost assured to find walkers waiting for you. When Carol seems to have issues with going head first into this one, Daryl offers to handle it for her.Credit: Zombie Prophet
The next morning, Carol awoke to find Daryl properly disposing of the bodies.Credit: Zombie Prophet
Daryl and Carol continue on their quest to find Beth, even though they seem to be making very little progress. They look on and all they have in front of them is death and desolation.Credit: Zombie Prophet
The duo finally finds a place where they can recharge for a few moments and potentially find themselves some supplies. As you can imagine, they are met with more walkers. (Who would have guessed.) This time, many of them have been restrained in what looks like sleeping bags.Credit: Zombie Prophet
Just when you start to think that things are going your way, you run face first into a brick wall – or in this case a young man carrying a gun. Did we forget to mention that this young man was Noah? He decides to relieve Daryl and Carol of their weapons as a means of making his own way through.Credit: Zombie Prophet
This leaves Daryl and Carol to make their way once again; now minus their weapons. Seems easy enough, right? As they make their way down the road, they find a van that is about to go over the overpass. It is then that they realize that they may have finally found a real lead as to the location of Beth.
Unfortunately, before they even know what happened, they are being overrun by walkers. Quickly, they decide that the best course of action is to take out as many as they can before ducking into the van. Because getting in a van that is about to plummet off of an overpass is far better than being eaten by a walker, right?Credit: Zombie Prophet
The two of them strap into the front seat and prepare for the worst; which happens in just a matter of seconds. The van plummets off of the side, but thankfully manages to land on its wheels. Just as they regain their bearings, the walkers begin to fall on the van like Lemmings.Credit: Zombie Prophet
Daryl and Carol continue to make their way to Grady Memorial. Unfortunately, before they make it there they are seemingly tracking Noah. On the bright side, it doesn’t take them all that long to track him down. If you are Noah, then this is certainly not going to be a happy reunion.
Before the catch up to Noah, they come face to face with a few more walkers. Daryl wastes no time in using what he has at his disposal to take a slice out of the walker. From the arrow they find in its neck, they know that Noah is not too far ahead of them.Credit: Zombie Prophet
When Daryl finally does set eyes on Noah again, he makes sure that Noah knows his displeasure. Daryl rushes into the room and bum rushes Noah, which sends him crashing into the bookcase in front of him. As you can imagine, the impact on the bookcase caused it to fall on top of Noah.Credit: Zombie Prophet
As you can imagine, Daryl has no interest in helping him. In fact, Daryl plans to leave him there and let the walkers eat him.Credit: Zombie Prophet
Thankfully for Noah, Carol didn’t have it in her heart to just leave him there. She kills the walker that was just about to eat him for dinner and helps him out from under the bookcase.
As they attempted to make their way out of the building, Daryl and Carol realize that Noah knows just where Beth is. Now, they know exactly what they have to do.
Unfortunately, Carol quickly finds herself in the same position as the walker in the beginning of the episode. She is struck by the vehicle of the people who have Beth. Daryl attempts to rush out and help her but Noah holds him back.Credit: Zombie Prophet
Noah is already aware of what those people are capable of, and with what Daryl and Noah has at their disposal right now, they are no match for Dawn and her men.
Noah gives Daryl a little bit of the lowdown on the people at the hospital and what they have in their arsenal. Now they know just what they have to do. The two of them make their way around the corner and are suddenly speeding off down the road.Credit: Zombie Prophet
Daryl and Noah know exactly what they need to do now. The thing is, their plan is going to involve quite a few more people. We have a distinct feeling that this is going to connect the end of this episode to the point and time when we saw Daryl arrive back at the church earlier in the season.
Now, they are all going to have to work together once again if they have any hopes of seeing Beth and Carol once again.
What did you think of tonight’s all-new episode of The Walking Dead? Do you think that they have any hopes of getting Carol and Beth out of Grady Memorial alive? Do you think our group of survivors will make a plan to take the hospital for their own and make it the new prison? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
The Walking Dead airs on Sunday nights at 9:00 p.m. on AMC.
