Tight Ends

Start: With most TE struggling to stay consistent, it’s good to have a starter who is a key part of his team’s offense.  Larry Donnell has been that withthe Giants this season for sure and has found the end zone in two of the team’s three games since their week 8 bye.  Donnell faces Dallas on Sunday Night Football who have allowed the fourth-most points per game to opposing TE.  Donnell had seven catches for 90 yards in the team’s first meeting earlier this year although it was fellow TE Daniel Fells who caught the touchdown.  In a good matchup, look for Donnell to have a big game Sunday night. With Dwayne Allen out, Coby Fleener will look to build on his week 11 performance when he gashed the Patriots for 144 yards although he didn’t get into the end zone.  Fleener has a great connection with his former college QB Andrew Luck and will take on the Jaguars this week who have allowed six TE touchdowns this season and six catches to opposing TE in each of their last two games. (last week: Travis Kelce, Kyle Rudolph)

Sit: As bad as the Eagles have been against the pass this season, they’ve held TE to the second-fewest points per game in the league. Only one TE managed to find the end zone against them and that was all the way back in week 2.  If you own Delanie Walker the good news is he looks like he’ll play after a week ten concussion-the bad news is he plays the Eagles. (last week: Julius Thomas)

Sleeper: No team has allowed more points to opposing TE than the Bears who have allowed eight TE touchdowns in their last four games. Look for the Bucs to try to involve rookie TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins especially in the red zone making him an interesting flier pickup for this week.  The Colts have also struggled to defend opposing TE which could help Marcedes Lewis in his return for the Jaguars. (last week: Mychal Rivera)
