Jack Del Rio

Candidate number-two also already resides in Denver, as the defensive coordinator. Jack Del Rio has coaching experience, and like Gase would also provide an easier transition.

Del Rio coached the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2003 to 2011 compiling a 68-71 record with two-playoff appearances. He took his team as far as the Divisional Round in 2007 where he lost a tough one to Bill Belichick’s perfect 16-0 New England Patriots.

Del Rio oversaw a defense which ranked seventh-overall in yards against per game at a 364 clip.

The problem selling Del Rio to Denver fans will be how miserable his pass rush finished the season. Especially the case with their disappointing zero-sack performance against the Colts featuring supposed studs Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware.
