With Max Scherzer joining the Washington Nationals, the new ace of the Detroit Tigers is David Price who recently signed a one-year deal.  Price is the reigning strikeout champion, but I am mildly worried about the fact that David Price threw a whopping 248.1 IP in 2014.  Nonetheless, Price is a top 10 SP once again because he will offer elite ratios, wins and QS, and 200+ K’s.

Justin Verlander was arguably the best pitcher in baseball from 2009 to 2012, but his decline this past season was both sad and precipitous.  Verlander showed a little regression in 2013, but everything fell apart in 2014.  I am not buying the former Cy Young winner at almost any price, but I hope he rebounds because he used to be great to watch.

Anibal Sanchez fills out a very talented trio for the Detroit Tigers even if Justin Verlander is a shadow of himself.  As you can read in my article here, Sanchez is an excellent candidate to rebound in 2015.  Let’s not forget that Anibal Sanchez was the AL ERA champion in 2013.  According to the projections, you can see that Sanchez could make a formidable SP3.
