Pop star Ariana Grande will headline the NBA’s All-Star halftime show.
On Thursday, the NBA announced that 21-year-old pop star Ariana Grande will be performing at the 64th NBA’s All-Star Game’s halftime show, which will occur on February 15th at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Last year, Earth, Wind, & Fire as well as Janelle Monae provided the halftime performances. Both Mariah Carey and Beyonce have performed at past halftime shows.

The announcement occurred less than a week after the singer was revealed to be also starring in the Fox television show “Scream Queens.” The singer is also up for two Grammy’s this year after being nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album (My Everything) and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (“Bang Bang” with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj). She also managed to garner two albums in the number one spot.
A televised performance should be familiar ground to the pop star, having performed recently in the American Music Awards, the Country Music Awards, A Very Grammy Christmas, and The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. She is also slated to be performing at the 57th Grammy Awards for the first time on February 8th.
Grande found immense stardom with the release of her second album “My Everything” last year, which included hits Problem and Love Me Harder (the only problem is getting the freaking song stuck in your head).
Not bad for a 21-year-old girl from Florida.
The game is airing live on TNT at 8:00 PM ET. Fans can expect to see players from both the Western and Eastern Conference go toe-to-toe in a heated game.
Starters for the game will be announced on Thursday.
