20 best Super Bowl commercials of all-time
By Bryce Olin
Well, this Budweiser commercial doesn’t feature their famous Clydesdale horses, but it does feature some talking frogs!
In the commercial, three frogs ribbit in a sequence that miraculously says the word “Bud-weis-er.” One frog croaks “Bud.” Another frog croaks “Wies.” And, another frog croaks “er.”
The frogs keep doing it over and over again!
The commercial debuted in 1995, and for the life of me, I can’t figure out why it’s so good.
It’s not particularly funny. It’s just frogs saying the name of the beer over and over, but it struck a chord with fans and is one of the first commercials people think of when they think of Super Bowl ads.
Over the years, numerous parodies of the video have surfaced, and Budweiser continued to make frog commercials for years because of this ad and its success.
Before you think, “Hey, I’m going to do the funny frog impression at my Super Bowl party this year!” DON’T! Those commercials are so old it makes the Golden Girls look young. Just don’t do it, please.
I don’t get it, but I respect greatness, and Budweiser has proven their one of the best advertisers in Super Bowl history. This isn’t the last time, you’ll see Budweiser on the list.
