New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist has had quite an adventure with the puck the past two games.

The diehards who sit in the blue-seats at Madison Square Garden (or where the blueseats used to be), describe New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist as a magician.

Each and every game the 32-year old Sweedish born goaltender starts is worth watching every second for something magical could happen at any moment. His career has played that sentiment out and if his postseason run last year was any indicator he will continue his magic career moving forward.

Fans respect him for his play and his numbers. He’s collected Vezzina trophy, and Eastern Conference championship and has posted a career mark of 333-206 to go along with an absurd 2.23 goals against average and .922 save percentage.

More than stats though, Lundqvist, unlike some goalies, is also a real hockey player.

After taking a frozen puck straight to the adam’s apple just two days ago, Lundqvist got back to magic time. With only 17 seconds to go in his team’s 6-3 win over the Florida Panthers in New York tonight, he stopped an innocent Tomas Kopecky wrist-shot.

Interestingly enough though, the referees couldn’t continue the game.

Why? Well the puck seemed to have suddenly disappeared on them.

After careful consideration, and about a half a minute’s time, Lundqvist finally realized the puck was stuffed down the back of his pants.

Just another example of “King Henrik” juggling superb goaltending and magic.

Oh yeah, and he also used the old noggin yet again in tonight’s victory.
