2015 NFL Draft: Who helped/hurt themselves the most at the combine?
By R. Phillips
Helped: Alvin “Bud” Dupree, OLB, Kentucky
Anyone who watched his tape knew Dupree would have a great showing at the combine, and he did not disappoint. The first-team All-SEC performer checked in at 6-foot-4 and 269 pounds, then dominated the workout portion of the event.
The freaky athlete turned in a 4.56 second performance in the 40-yard dash, flashed a 42-inch vertical jump and a 138-inch broad jump. All of those were among the top marks for linebackers. The Kentucky product lived up to every bit of the hype surrounding him.
Dupree projects as an edge rusher at the next level and his combination of size, power and athleticism likely have him in the mid-to-late first-round discussion. Unless something crazy happens, that’s where he should land. He’s the kind of guy you can plug in as a rookie and send him straight at opposing quarterbacks.
