The Camp Nou will bring some extra spice to the already electric atmosphere on sunday
In case you’ve been living under a rock recently you’ll know that Real Madrid travel to Barcelona on Sunday for a huge La Liga clash. The age old rivals will go head to head once again and the stakes couldn’t be higher.
Barcelona are currently top of the Spanish League, one point ahead of bitter rivals Madrid. If the Catalan club can pull off a victory that their form dictates they should, they will go four points clear which should be a big enough advantage to see them seal the league title.
Barcelona are fresh off an impressive Champions League performance that saw them dispatch of English Premier League Champions Man City. They only won the game 1-0, but that doesn’t tell the full story as if it wasn’t for City’s goalkeeper Joe Harte it could have finished 3, 4 or even 5-0.
With Barcelona seemingly back at their best and Real Madrid in stuttering form, this could be a magnificent day for the Catalan. The atmosphere is bound to be absolutely incredible, with the hatred between the two fans at an all time high.
Barcelona have revealed plans to add to the atmosphere, something that will please fans and neutrals alike. They are planning a huge mosaic across the Camp Nou, with a jersey being created with sheets of paper held aloft by thousands of fans. It is sure to be an amazing sight, something for all of us at home to enjoy. The jersey will have the number 12 on it, representing that the fans are the ’12th man’ on the team.
I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for the El Clasico.
