Michael Jordan was a big time trash talker. He even talked trash to the extras during the filming of ‘Space Jam’

Michael Jordan is the best basketball player to ever step on the court. He is also one of the most competitive players in the game and he always wanted to let you know how good he was. It was part of his game. He wanted to beat you mentally on the court. He already knew that he could do whatever he wanted on the court with the basketball, but then he looked to get a bigger edge mentally.

Former Indiana Pacers G Reggie Miller talked about a moment when they were jawing back and forth and Jordan told him to refer him to Black Jesus. Now that is some smack talk.

Jordan didn’t limit his trash talking to NBA players though. During the filming of Space Jam, MJ trash talked some of the extras. Here is a little snippet from the most recent Grantland article:

"He didn’t give a [expletive] who you were. When I was doing Space Jam, we played three days. I thought it was over. I had to go out of town. I get a phone call, they’re like, “Why aren’t you here?” I was like, “Oh, they’re still playing?” I had no idea.I walk in, and it’s Reggie Miller, Charles Barkley, Alonzo Mourning, Charles Oakley. Grant Hill shows up. Jerry Stackhouse shows up. Now, all of a sudden it’s an NBA All-Star pickup game.Yeah, so Jordan … I had to guard Reggie Miller and Michael Jordan in back-to-back games. It was so bad. I was friends with Chris Mills and Tracy Murray — we had been to some camps together. One play, I got switched onto Jordan, because Chris was like, “Keith, you take him.” Jordan hit a 35-footer on me. I mean, it was ridiculous: leg out, tongue out, all that stuff … hit a 35-footer on me and goes, “GET THE [EXPLETIVE] OFF THE COURT.”"

Michael Jordan was the king on the court and the king of trash talking. He wanted to let you know how he was going to beat you.
