What five needs do the New York Knicks have looking ahead to the upcoming offseason after an embarrassing all-around season?
Derek Fisher took over the New York Knicks‘ head coaching job last offseason, but little did he know that he was heading for an absolute nightmare of a season. The Knicks are currently 14-58 on the season, and are headed for a very interesting offseason.
Phil Jackson tried to put together a team that could compete in the weak Eastern Conference, but obviously that didn’t end up happening.
New York has quite a few needs to address this coming offseason, and Jackson is going to have a very busy time trying to fill all of them. Carmelo Anthony is the only piece that really looks like a long-term fixture for the Knicks, and there are even questions surrounding whether or not Fisher is a real NBA head coaching candidate. Despite all of those concerns, there are five things in particular that need to be fixed in order for the Knicks to get back on the right track.
It is going to be very entertaining to watch the Knicks and see what they end up doing. They won’t have a ton of money to spend in free agency, but there are ways that they can make some moves happen.
Another thing that will be interesting to see is whether or not the Knicks will get any interest from the players that they pursue. Coming off of a dismal season like they have been having it isn’t going to be easy for them to convince players to jump on board.
All of that being said, what five needs do the Knicks have in particular heading towards the upcoming offseason?
