Paul Casey, England

Paul Casey was sixth in FedEx Cup points in the 2010 season and since then the 37 year-old English golfer has struggled immensely but he seems to be back to his sharpshooting ways with the way he’s been playing in 2015 and is threatening to gain his first PGA Tour victory since the Shell Houston Open in 2009.

In 2015 so far, Casey has two top fives in eight events that he’s played on the PGA Tour. He lost in a playoff in the Northern Trust Open and got a second place finish in February and the next week he finished T-3 in the Honda Classic under tough conditions.

Casey hits the ball 298 yards and can hit great approaches from far and close. He ranks fifth in approaches from 275 yards or more and fourth on tour in approaches from 75-100 yards showing that he’s had great multi-dimensional game this season.

His total putting also ranks 15th on tour and he ranks second on tour in putts from 10 feet. He is also fifth in par-5 scoring average, showing that he has potential to go low on the par 5 holes which will no doubt help him at the Masters for getting birdies.

I like Casey a lot because he’s playing his best golf in years and knows that he doesn’t have much time left to grab his first major victory. He has a great chance at winning the Masters with the way he’s been playing and hopefully he can become the first Englishman to win the event since Sir Nick Faldo did it in 1996. Don’t be shocked if win-hungry Casey gets back near the top of the FedEx Cup standings this year and I like him to do well at Augusta.
