FSU beats Florida with walk off home run, epic bat flip
Florida State beats Florida on a walk-off home run and celebrates accordingly.
Nothing is sweeter than a walk-off home run. Unless, of course, it’s a walk-off home run against your in-state rival in extra innings.

That’s exactly what happened last night with the Florida State Seminoles beat the Florida Gators on Tuesday night. Tied 3-3 in the bottom of the 12 inning, Seminole Qunicy Nieporte stepped up to the plate and produced.
The Tallahassee Community College transfer broke out of his offensive slump and delivered a bomb that sent the ball flying over the left field wall. After making contact, Nieporte pulled off a wicked bat flip that would make even the professional ball players take notice. He practically tossed it into the dug out.
The rest of Nieporte’s teammates celebrated in traditional fashion by mobbing him at the plate. We’re guessing there were a few celebratory drinks afterward as well. By drinks we mean juice boxes, of course.
With the home run, Florida State took the series from the Gators, snapping a four-game losing streak in the process. Even more impressive, the win gave Florida State the edge over Florida for the season in baseball, football and basketball for the first time since the 1979-1980 season. Back then, 35 years ago now, Bobby Bowden was in his fourth season coaching the football team and Mike Martin was at the helm of the baseball team.
As if a NCAA football national championship wasn’t reason enough to celebrate.
