Want to see the most impressive way to interrupt a postgame interview for a winning pitcher? Just watch as Lehigh’s Nick Stephens gets thanked with an alley-oop.

It seems like every now and again, there is a craze that sweeps a certain sport after a win. Sometimes it’s celebrating a win with a Gatorade bath or maybe even a shaving cream pie to the face. Recently, there has been a video bombing craze. It happens in all sports, but since baseball season has begun, it’s starting to take over the diamond.

After a recent 3-2 win by the Lehigh baseball team, teammates of winning pitcher Nick Stephens thought it would be a nice gesture to reward him with a rim-rattling alley-oop.

However, Stephens was on the wrong side of the alley-oop, unknowingly taking a charge during his postgame interview with a reporter. Stephens was minding his own business, talking about what it felt like to get the win — cliche sports phrases and all — and his teammates snuck up on him.

This had to have been planned for quite some time as the team already had the net and ball ready, just waiting for the perfect pass to jump up and dunk on the unsuspecting pitcher.

I would be willing to bet that Lehigh watched Christian Yelich of the Marlins get dunked on last week in the same fashion during a postgame interview by teammate Dee Gordon. However, that dunk wasn’t as impressive as Lehigh’s because the alley-oop factor wasn’t present.

I would be willing to bet Stephens felt a little bit like James in this music video by Froggy Fresh.

However, the call on the play was a charge. Too bad.
