Complete list of of Denver Broncos draft picks in the 2015 NFL Draft

The Denver Broncos are tied with four other teams for having the second highest number of draft picks in the 2015 NFL Draft. They hold ten selections in this year’s draft. The Broncos traded their fourth rounder to the San Francisco 49ers last year as part of a deal to move up and draft WR Cody Latimer. The Broncos also dealt their seventh rounder to the New York Giants in exchange for kicker Brandon McManus. Denver acquired the Chicago Bears‘ fifth round pick last year in draft trades. This along with the maximum four compensatory picks, three of which are in the seventh round, round out the Broncos ten draft choices.

The Broncos have needs at offensive line, linebacker, tight end, and potentially quarterback. It appears as though the Broncos will be targeting an offensive tackle in the first round of the draft, as that is a significant position of need and there should be plenty of talent available at 28. The Broncos could be targeting Andrus Peat, D.J. Humphries, T.J. Clemmings, or Cedric Ogbuehi. All four prospects have been met with the Broncos.

With injuries to linebackers Brandon Marshall and Danny Trevathan the Broncos have a big need as inside linebacker. Paul Dawson or Stephone Anthony could be potential picks for the Broncos in the second round.

Peyton Manning isn’t getting any younger. It’s more likely than not that this could be Peyton’s last year in the NFL. It’s a sad thought, I know. With Peyton’s departure looking imminent, and injury concerns not out of the realm of possibility either, Peyton’s injuries during the playoffs clearly hampered his performance, the Broncos could look to draft a quarterback. Brock Osweiler has been on the roster since 2012 and this is his last year under his rookie contract. Either the Broncos are going to give Brock a new contract this year and plan to build the team around him, or they are going to bring in a cost-controlled rookie to compete for that position and potentially serve as Brock’s backup next year if they choose to make him their starting quarterback.

The Broncos have a very complete team with fewer needs than most. One of the biggest departures this offseason was tight end Julius Thomas. Expect the Broncos to be looking to add a tight end to replace “Orange Julius” and perhaps prove that it was Peyton Manning enabling his TE’s impressive performance, and not the TE himself. More than any other team the Broncos are in win now mode. If this is Peyton’s last year then they will do everything they can to make it a good one.
