Ahmad Brooks, San Francisco 49ers linebacker, accused of sexual assault.

Stop me if you’ve heard this before: a NFL player is in trouble with the law.

The most recent allegation involves Ahmad Brooks of the Niners. The accuser stated that on December 14, 2014, she was at house of Ray McDonald, who was on the Niners at the time, when she fell and hit her head on the pool deck, knocking her out. In the documents, obtained by TMZ, the accuser claims that Brooks sexually assaulted her while she was passed out.

Additionally, she states that McDonald, who owned the house, carried her upstairs to his bedroom where he proceeded to have sex with her without her consent.

As far as McDonald’s involvement goes, the San Jose Police Department have already investigated the case and dropped the charges, after finding insufficient evidence to proceed. The reason that the case is being re-investigated hinges on the fact that the accuser now believes that there is video surveillance footage from that night that could be of value to the police.

Brooks became a member of the 49ers after he was cut by the Bengals and ultimately signed a six-year, $44.5 million extension in 2012.

Brooks is no stranger to off-the-field issues. A high-profile high school athlete, Brooks attended the University of Virginia where he was eventually dismissed by the team. Additionally, in 2013, he was accused of hitting his teammate in the head with a beer bottle and punching him in the face.

Seems like a great guy, huh?

Thanks to this latest incident with Brooks, the laundry list of NFL players accused of breaking the law continues to grow. In less than a year, two high-profile cases, Adrian Peterson’s child abuse case and Ray Rice’s assault case, have put the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell under a microscope.
