Chicago Bears

Like the Falcons before them, the Bears had a lot of holes, and they addressed them with vigor and upside.

Kevin White is the “prize” of the class, and while I would rather have Amari Cooper (who was off the board by this point), the former West Virginia star has the chance to be an impact player. Put him alongside Alshon Jeffery and go from there.

My favorite pick in Chicago’s class wasn’t White, though, but rather Eddie Goldman from Florida State in round two. Goldman was a first-round talent in my mind, and he will immediately help a run defense that has been a mess at times over the past several seasons. It is always a positive to acquire a definite Week 1 starter in round two, and he is that.

Later in the draft, the Bears added big-time value with their next three picks, grabbing a possible starter at center in Hroniss Grasu, a complimentary running back in Jeremy Langford (who was underdrafted) and safety depth in Adrian Amos. It is entirely possible that the Bears didn’t acquire an All-Pro player in this class, but with five consecutive value picks to open their class, it is impossible to argue against their return.
