PF. Kansas. Cliff Alexander. 27. player. 20. The Julius Randle project didn’t seem to work out too well in LA. Which is why they could draft another power forward this year in Cliff Alexander. Before the 2014-15 season got underway, Cliff Alexander was thought to be one of the top prospects in the upcoming draft. But due to under performing and a lack of stats to back up his hype, Alexander’s stock fell.
However, that isn’t to say the kid can’t play. And for the Lakers, who are still unsure of whether or not Julius Randle will be their big man of the future, drafting Alexander might not be the worst idea. Maybe all Randle needs is a little fire lit under his belly to get him motivated to start producing like he did for Kentucky. Cliff Alexander could be just the fire he needs.

Besides, if Alexander does work out to be a solid NBA player, the combination of Randle and Alexander under the basket could be huge for the Lakers moving forward. I know the Lakers organization is dead set on keeping Kobe in the mix. But the truth of the matter is that Kobe is on the wrong side of 30, and LA needs to think about it’s future. Cliff Alexander might be the start to a future in LA.
