True Detective’s second season trailer is here!
The trailer for the second season of True Detective was released and it doesn’t look horrible.
Brace yourselves, True Detective fans. The show’s new trailer is out and ready for you to judge.
The first season of True Detective was magical. Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson were an incredible pair, playing off each other perfectly. Their performances were so good, in fact, that both actors received an Emmy nomination and a Golden Globe nomination.
When it was announced that McConaughey and Harrelson would not be returning for the second season, fans of the show freaked out. For months afterwards, speculation over who would replace the dynamic duo was one of Hollywood’s biggest secrets, and one of the Internet’s most incredible memes.
When the cast for the second season was revealed, that fear was only heightened. Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch? First of all, those are four names not two. And Vince Vaughn is the funny guy, but would he be able to cross over to a high-intensity drama as well as Woody Harrelson did? Or would season two of True Detective make the last season of The Office look like the last season of Breaking Bad.
Well fans got their first real peek at what the show’s second season will look like on Thursday, when HBO posted the trailer on YouTube for all to see. The trailer, one minute long, is pretty intense. It includes angst-ridden cast members, someone lighting a fire, a reference to missing girl, Rachel McAdams going HAM with a knife of a block of wood. Ok, so it does not reveal too much, but it looks interesting nonetheless.
If this trailer is any indication, it seems like season two will not completely disappoint fans of the show. Watch the entire thing below to get ready for True Detective‘s return to HBO on June 21st.
Here’s hoping.
