New York Knicks 2015 Mock Draft: Who goes at No. 4?
Emmanuel Mudiay
The New York Knicks need a replacement at just about every position. But no role more so than a point guard. Neither Jose Calderon nor Shane Larkin seem like the point guard of the future in New York, so maybe it’s time to draft a new one.
One of the most interesting prospects this year in the NBA Draft is Emmanuel Mudiay. He has had an unconventional road to the NBA, playing high school ball in Texas, committing to Murray State, and then backing out to go play pro ball in China. Mudiay is hardly your classic point guard in terms of getting to the NBA.
His style of play isn’t that traditional either. He is 6’5, a little oversized for the point guard position and his turnover issue could turn into a problem later in his career. But Mudiay seems to possess all the tools necessary to become a NBA point guard. His large frame doesn’t hinder his ability to guard on the perimeter. He can shoot the long call as well as most NBA point guards and won’t hesitate to take the ball to the bucket.
If the Knicks what to win next year, they are going to have to select Mudiay. I don’t think there is a guard in the draft who is more NBA ready than Mudiay. He has pro basketball experience and can be an immediate impact player if the Knicks develop his potential.
