4. Arizona Cardinals

Unless you are a huge fan of Andre Ellington, the Arizona Cardinals might have the worst stable of running backs in the NFL. Ellington can be productive at times, but was only able to play in 12 games last year while rushing for 660 yards on 3.3 yards per carry. Needless to say, Ellington was not getting the job done after being ultra-productive in his rookie season with 5.5 YPC.

Behind Ellington is a cast of misfits and mediocre talents. David Johnson, Stephan Taylor and Marion Grice don’t belong on a quality NFL team, but somehow have remained on the Cardinals roster for 2015. If anything happens to Ellington, the running game will grind to a complete halt. Say what you will about Rice having a bad 2013, but rolling the dice on him having a better year than the aforementioned three combined wouldn’t be a bad gamble.

Again, Rice would be going to a team in a very small market. Unlike New York or Philadelphia, Arizona’s writers aren’t going to hammer the team for days on end over the move. Rice would be able to quietly come in and go about his business, trying to help the Cardinals win their first playoff game since the Kurt Warner era. It is a move that the front office has to at least think about with training camp approaching.
