Solid Starting Options

11. player. 61. Cueto has been on a nice run in his last four starts allowing a total of six runs in 27 innings and picking up 26 strikeouts while only walking six. He faces the Cubs for the first time this season in the Wrigley matinee this afternoon, but he did struggle with them a bit last year going 1-2 with a 5.40 ERA in his three starts against them. Couple that with his road split (2-3, 3.83 ERA vs 2-1, 1.25 ERA at home), and he’s a solid option although not quite in the elite tier for this afternoon.. Cincinnati Reds. @ Cubs. Johnny Cueto

player. 102. Santiago actually worked out of the bullpen for the Angels since his last start throwing 3.2 innings of scoreless relief on June 6.  He should still be fully rested and ready for tonight’s start against Oakland who he is 1-0 against after holding them ton one run on three hits in six innings earlier this season.  Santiago has an impressive 2.55 ERA this season while holding opponents to a .213 average.  Look for him to continue his breakout campaign tonight at home where he is 2-1 with a 2.40 ERA this season.. Los Angeles Angels. vs Athletics. Hector Santiago. 10

Garcia has been solid since returning from the DL despite a 1-3 record. He has lasted at least six innings in all four of his starts while allowing three earned runs or fewer.  He has a solid 2.67 ERA and 1.00 WHIP.  Hopefully his luck changes and he can pick up a win tonight, but either way I expect another solid, professional start from the Cardinals’ lefty.. St. Louis Cardinals. vs Royals. Jaime Garcia. 9. player. 32

@ Brewers. Jordan Zimmermann. 8. player. 90. Zimmermann is coming off a bad outing against the Cubs last week when he allowed four runs on ten hits to see his record fall to 5-3.  His ERA is still a solid 3.18 as he takes the mound in Milwaukee tonight. He’s a solid option whenever he takes the mound although he usually doesn’t get enough strikeouts to be considered elite for fantasy purposes.. Washington Nationals

David Price has been good on the road (4-1, 1.75 ERA) but curiously struggled at home at Comerica Park (1-1, 4.22 ERA). He’ll try to balance those splits with a good outing tonight at home against the Indians tonight.  Price hasn’t pitched at home in his last three starts, but he has pitched well allowing just three earned runs total in those three outings while going a combined 23.2 innings allowing 17 hits and striking out 20. He is rounding into form, and I think he makes a good play tonight despite his issues in Detroit.. Detroit Tigers. vs Indians. David Price. 7. player. 63
