The Good: As one of the oldest teams in Major League Baseball, the Chicago White Sox have had many different logos and uniform styles over the years. While I like 1912-17 era logo best personally, the team did a great job of rebranding in 1991 and has been on their best behavior sticking with the black and white color scheme since. The Sox also do a good job of paying homage to some of their more unique retro uniform sets with regular throwback nights, like the 1980s uniform the team wears on occasion or the early 1970s red cap and pinstripes they donned in a similar fashion in 2012.

Oh, and how thankful I am that the White Sox have begun to limit the number of times they wear their black alternate jersey. A few years ago, Chicago seemingly wore their black alternate every game, whether on the road or at home. Thankfully, through June 9, they’ve only worn in ten times in 2015.

The Bad: The White Sox have had some bad uniforms in the past (including one set that included shorts instead of pants), and the 1980s throwback is so bad it’s good. But as long as the team limits the number of times it wears the black alternate jersey, there’s little to complain about.
