Scary Options

Kyle Hendricks. 26. player. 9. Hendricks has gone exactly five innings in each of his last four starts with mixed results. While I do like his matchup, until he goes deeper into games it’s hard to trust him too much. . Chicago Cubs. @ Mets

31. Vogelsong has been up and down all season, but he’s been worth a fantasy play when he’s been good. His last two starts he has gone 12.2 innings without allowing a run while striking out ten and allowing just eight hits. His ERA is still over 4.00 and his 6-5 record is a good reflection of his inconsistencies.  Vogelsong is on the road tonight which makes him even riskier since he is 4-3 with a 5.31 ERA away from AT&T Park.. San Francisco Giants. @ Marlins. Ryan Vogelsong. 25. player

11. Gonzalez made his first start after a DL sting and earned a win against Boston despite allowing four runs in five innings.  He has had a solid 6-4 season so far with a 3.58 ERA, but it’s a little hard to be too sure what to expect from him after just five innings since his DL trip.. Baltimore Orioles. vs Rangers. Miguel Gonzalez. 23. player

You never know what De La Rosa will give you, but lately he’s been impressive enough to make him not a definite stay-away.  In his last three starts, he has given up one earned run or fewer  while pitching at least seven innings in every start.  Starting him is still a bit like walking a tight-rope though since the four starts before that he gave up at least four runs in each outing including an outing in LA when he was lit up for nine runs on ten hits in just five innings.. Arizona Diamondbacks. vs Dodgers. Rubby De La Rosa. 22. player. 8

63. One of the most intriguing starts to watch tonight will be Verlander’s as he tries to continue his comeback after missing a start with back issues. Verlander allowed six runs in 6.2 innings to the Yankees in his last start and hasn’t had a vintage performance yet this season.  Until he does, proceed with extreme caution although obviously the potential for greatness is there based on his track record.. Detroit Tigers. vs Pirates. Justin Verlander. 21. player
