No one –except for the most adamant of haters– will argue that LeBron James is the best player in the NBA. However, eventually he is going to have to cough that title up, and the most obvious pick to take said title from him is New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis.
With just how well he can play on the inside, folks consider him the heir apparent to the throne of LeBron James. Now, could you imagine if he actually improved his outside shooting to go along with his game? Could you imagine if Davis were actually able to morph himself into a 6’10” version of Stephen Curry? Impossible, right?
Well, actually…
That is terrifying. If you’re any opposing team in the NBA that has to play Davis and the Pelicans in the near future, you should be cringing right now. Davis could have just taken his new monster contract, continued to be a dominant force down low and just left it at that; he’d probably still be fine.
But no, instead he decided that he would attempt to turn himself into a three-point machine, and it looks like that process is going quite well so far.
Watch that crown, LeBron. Anthony Davis is ready to swipe it off your head.
