This Retro-Cut of ‘Spectre’ with Sean Connery Is Pretty Awesome (Video)

We are a few months away from the release of ‘Spectre’, but already fans are latching to the film in creative ways — like retro-cutting Sean Connery into the trailer.

James Bond is more than just a film franchise that has been around for the last half-century. It’s a franchise that has gone on to inspire millions of creative minds around the world in various aspects of their lives — from fellow filmmakers to artists and even teachers. The influence of Bond and the creativity it mines out of fans of the franchise is just tremendous to see.

Look no further than a retro-cut Spectre trailer for the latest example of just how creative Bond fans are — and how much time they apparently have on their hands. Someone spliced Sean Connery into the latest Spectre trailer with near-flawless execution.

Here’s a look at the trailer:

It’s not perfect, as there are plenty of moments where the retro-cutting looks forced and almost cartoonish. But at the same time, there are some pretty flawless sequences in the trailer that look like Sean Connery is in the film.

What this does is it ties the Bonds all together, and further fuels the ongoing debate over the timeline of the character and how all of the incarnations of Bond fit together to tell the story of the franchise. That, and this is just a badass use of time and editing skills to splice together something that all Bond fans can come to appreciate.

Spectre hits theaters on November 6, 2015.
