NFL: Selecting the best player in each franchise’s history

The NFL is “king” among sports in the United States and, as a result, there is an insatiable appetite for content surrounding professional football. Fans of the league’s 32 franchises treat their squads with a reverence that oftentimes transforms into full-blown arguments between members of the given fan base and fans of other teams.
One of the biggest debates that emerges is in regards to whom the “best” player in a franchise’s history actually is. Old-school fans will undoubtedly lean toward players from the 1960s and 1970s, while the younger generation may overrate athletes who are on the field today. In this space, we will aim to level the playing field by taking everything into account and deciding the best player in each team’s history.
It must be noted that statistics have grown, especially in the passing game, as the league has matured, which means that numbers from the early days won’t match on a 1-to-1 basis with statistics from today. With all of that on the table, it is time to unveil the list. Let’s do it.
