Josh Hill-New Orleans Saints

The Saints TE spot has been golden under Drew Brees as Jimmy Graham has been the only option that could even come close to challenging Gronk at the elite TE1 level.  This offseason, though, the Saints traded Graham away leaving a huge number of target on the table from Brees and Coach Sean Payton’s pass-heavy offense.

One of the options to fill the huge void left by Graham is TE Josh Hill.  This preseason he has split time with veteran option Ben Watson, but I ultimately expect Hill to emerge with the majority of what could start as an early season timeshare.  Hill got two targets in the red zone in the Saints “dress rehearsal” in week 3 of the preseason and finished with just one catch for five yards.

Hill’s size makes him a great red zone option compared to some of the Saints’ smaller receivers, and Brees has shown the ability to get his TE the ball in the end zone.  According to his ADP, Hill is currently the 19th tight end off of draft boards making him a late round TE flier worth taking in hopes that he can become a large part of the Saints revamped passing attack especially near the end zone.
