Richard Rodgers-Green Bay Packers

Another sleeper option who could emerge as a weapon this year is Richard Rodgers whose main upside is the offense that he plays in with Aaron Rodgers (no relation). Richard has shown he can be a solid pass-catcher in the past, but there weren’t enough target to go around even in Green Bay’s pass-heavy scheme.

This year with Jordy Nelson’s injury and Randall Cobb also getting dinged up, the Packers could look to Rodgers more especially in the red zone. He hauled in a touchdown from backup QB Scott Tolzien in Preseason week 2, and Coach Mike McCarthy has mentioned him as a red zone threat.

Rodgers has the size and athleticism to emerge as a threat some weeks in Aaron Rodgers’ offense, but we’ll have to see how Jordy’s targets are parceled out in the first few weeks to know how large a role he’ll play.  If you are looking for a late round TE, Rodgers is a solid name to consider given the offensive opportunities that could come his way.
