The Jacksonville Jaguars have created their own arcade on their team website and have released their very first video game called Duval Dash.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, under the leadership of eccentric new owner Shahid Khan, think outside of the box. From playing an annual home game in London to adopting the first two-tone helmet in the NFL, fading from black to gold, you can now add the Jaguars as the first NFL team with an arcade game, entitled Duval Dash.

It appears that there are more coming in the 8-bit variety. After beating the Miami Dolphins at home, 23-20, on Sunday, the  Jaguars are in a first-place tie with the Tennessee Titans atop the AFC South entering Week 3. So why not celebrate with some Jaguar themed old-school video games?

The video game has pixelated players, cheerleaders, even Khan himself. While everyone has applauded over the years Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones for his unique thoughts, the NFL’s Bill Veeck might be the mustached car part magnate down in North Florida.

Will Jacksonville release a new video game title on Jaguars Arcade weekly?  Will it be only when the Jaguars host games? How many are coming?

The point of building an arcade is to increase brand awareness of the team in a small NFL market.

Perhaps this is a tactic to attract young North Floridians to become lifelong fans of the Jaguars. Many young adults became fans of the NFL through Madden, so why can’t Jaguars Arcade do the same thing for Khan’s rebuilding NFL franchise? Who knows what else Khan has in mind for his Jaguars?
